Friday Jan 24 We had a good sleep.   Unfortunately, it looks like I am getting another cold.     We decided to find somewhere close where we could walk to for breakfast as we didn’t want to take our fully loaded car into a public parking place in Las Vegas.   We ate an excellent breakfast at Denny’s and both of us were not able to eat all that was served but it will definitely keep us until dinner time.    We left Las Vegas at 9:30am which is 10:30am Phoenix time.     We stopped at an viewpoint for an overlook of Lake Mead. We stopped in Kingman for gasoline and then stopped in Wickenburg at the Dairy Queen for a Blizzard treat to hold us until dinner.  We continued to Phoenix and drove to our daughter Angie’s house and she shared dinner with us.  It was so good to see Angie and Robert and their children. Spoken Word by Lloyd Newell How does a group of individuals, all with different backgrounds and different perspectives on life, become a united community? Well-known author and newspaper columnist David Brooks believes that the answer lies in how we see each other. “That’s what a community is,” he says, “a bunch of people

Sunday Jan 12 We woke up to snow this morning.   I enjoyed throwing a few snowballs and enjoying the scenery.    You can see the snow on the Salt Lake Temple   These snow covered cacti are in the median on West Temple Street We enjoyed Music and the Spoken Word.   What a blessing this has been during our mission to attend each week.   We have one more week to attend.   The men wore their white jackets and the women wore light blue.   See the contrast in colors in the picture below. We enjoyed dinner at mom and dad Seniors and then looked at some family pictures that they had on several CD’s.   Sister Tolman brought them home and then copied them to her computer on Monday. Monday Jan 13 We woke up to snow this morning and it snowed until early afternoon.   We attended the Monday morning devotional.   At the end, our names as well as the names of the other departing missionaries were read and we all stood as we sung the closing song “God Be With You”.   We sh
