October 21-27 Sunday to Saturday

Sunday Oct 21 As usual we enjoyed Music and the Spoken Word this morning.   We sat a little closer to the front than we normally do.   We talked to a couple from India who just moved to San Francisco from Indiana.   They really enjoyed being there.   We also met a couple visiting from England who have been on vacation for three weeks.   They were baptized about 1968 and were here for General Conference and to see the missionary who baptized them.  When we leave the tabernacle we always see a group of sister missionaries who sing, share a message in their language and then are available for tours around temple square. Sister Tolman fixed us a nice breakfast of hash browns and an egg sandwich just before leaving for Santaquin to hear JoAnne and Craig Barlow speak in their ward Sacrament meeting at 12:30pm.   It was a wonderful meeting and we all went back to their house to visit and have some snacks.   Byron and Peggy Tolman, Dave and Gerri Coombs, and Glenna and Lori Neilson w

Sunday Oct 14 We enjoyed Music and the Spoken Word this morning.   It was unusual to see the men in white jackets and the women in black dresses.    We sat next to a couple from New Zealand who are nearing the end of a three-month tour in the USA.   It was fun talking to them.   They have enjoyed seeing the sites around Temple Square.   I asked them if they lived on the North Island or the South Island.   They asked me if I had been to New Zealand. I said no but I enjoy studying geography.   They live on the North Island. It was cold walking to the Tabernacle at 8:30am this morning but even colder when we returned home. It was around freezing at 32 degrees.   We  wore my warm coats. After church we went to the Seniors for dinner.   We looked at some old slides from the 1960’s including slides from South Africa and Europe.   It was also enjoyable to see pictures from the 1960’s when Sister Tolman was a teenager. Monday Oct 15 It was cold in the morning so we wore

Tuesday October 9 We are back to our regular Tuesday schedule with Sister Tolman working at the Church Office Bldg and Elder Tolman working at the Library.   Today was a full day from 7:30am to 5pm at the missionary department for Sister Tolman.    The Griffiths are enjoying more time at the various sites around temple square.   We received Emilee’s limited use temple recommend so she can join Josh, Rachael and Robert at the Salt Lake Temple for baptisms on Wednesday. It was not busy during the first hour of the day, so I did some indexing which I had not done for several days.   Since Sister Tolman worked the full day at the COB, I took my lunch and ate at the lunch room and them went to the credit union to deposit the rent check from our house in Tempe. ====================================== Added by Sister Tolman. Tuesday I worked at the COB.  It was a slow day and there was only one interesting call.  It came in when everyone had left for the day.  I told the young man

Saturday October 6 2018 - Contributed by Sister Tolman This morning I woke up early and got going on Cinnamon Rolls.  I decided that I would make three dozen instead of the typical two dozen.  I got going and got them done.  I straightened the house and then got going on preparing mini frittatas.  I got them in the oven and went to get dressed.  Elder Tolman left to go down to get Angie and let her in the parking lot.  They got upstairs and started breakfast.   It was 8:30 in the morning and they were up and going. They said that they had been right across from dad and they were missing each other but finally made the connection.  After breakfast they headed across the street for the opening session of General Conference.  They said they would get something to eat after the opening session and then go over to the JSMB or the Tabernacle for the afternoon session and then come back after that.
