October 20 - 26 - Sunday to Saturday

Sunday Oct 20 Here is a picture taken a couple of weeks ago with the leaves changing right by the entrance to the Salt Lake City Temple. We attended Music and the Spoken Word as we always do on Sunday morning. We spent the morning reviewing our talks for Sacrament meeting.     Our subject was President Oaks talk from April 2019 General Conference titled “Where Will This Lead”.   He talked about the importance of considering the consequences of our decisions.   The Sacrament Meeting went well and we received lots of compliments about our messages.   Before the meeting started Elder Randy Funk of the Seventy came to our meeting.   He requested the we give him a few minutes to speak at the end of the meeting.   Sister Tolman and I and the other speaker reduced the length of our talks to give him time at the end.   It was and excellent meeting.   You can read our talks on a separate blog entry right after this one titled “October 20 – Sacrament Meeting Talks”.  Access it direc

October 20 - Sacrament Meeting Talks

Elder and Sister Tolman were asked to give talks about a month ago.  We prepared our talks separately.  Elder Tolman spoke first and Sister Tolman spoke second.  We ended up shortening our talks as Elder Randy Funk came to our Sacrament meeting today and he asked for five minutes at the end of the meeting to share a short message.  Here is the original program. October 13 - 19 - Sunday to Saturday

Sunday Oct 13 We attended Music and the Spoken Word and sat in the center section on the main floor for the first time since the choir moved to the Tabernacle the second week of September.   Here is a picture taken from the main floor.   We needed to be a little early to church as we took the bread for the Sacrament.   I had also arranged to meet Marlowe and Mary Anne Ashton to give them the flash drive with the Tahiti movies made by David Price.   They finish their church meetings at 12:30pm.    Later I received a text from Mary Anne about the Tahitian videos “We have it playing on Marlowe’s large screen computer and it’s just filling our little apartment with happy sounds and beautiful pictures.   Thank you so very much for doing this for us.   And for even thinking of doing this for us!” We attended our branch meetings.   The subject for our sacrament meeting talks was ministering.   The talks were excellent.   Our subject for Priesthood and Relief Society was Elder Chr
