Sunday June 2 Music and the Spoken Word moved to the Conference Center and will be there until after Labor Day in September.  Thursday evening choir practices also move from the Tabernacle to the Conference Center. The Fast and Testimony for our City Creek Branch was inspiring and we enjoyed hearing testimonies from so many branch members.    Today is our grandchildren Rachel and Matthew’s birthday.   We talked to Rachel and communicated via email with Matthew.   Matthew with return from his mission to Canada about two months before we return home in January. We have several others in the family who share the same birthday.   Our daughter Angie and her youngest Sarah share the same birthday.   My sister Glenna and I share the same birthday and our grandsons Elijah and Austin do as well.    It is amazing that neither Sister Tolman nor I nor our eight daughters share the same birthday especially since Sister Tolman and four ...

View of Great Salt Lake from near the Bountiful Temple Sunday May 26 Music and the Spoken Word was excellent this morning with a theme based on Memorial Day.   The music was really enjoyable.   The tabernacle was full.   We arrived earlier than normal and still decided to sit in the balcony as the main floor was almost full.  We found out later that some people were turned away because the tabernacle was full.  Next week we move to the Conference Center. Our Sacrament meeting was inspiring with a theme. of Article of Faith 1 and Elder Gong’s April conference address.   Our Relief Society/Priesthood lesson was President Nelson’s conference address “Come Follow Me’. We had our Fifth-Floor dinner from 5 to 6:30pm in the social room on the first floor of our apartment building.   We had eleven from our floor plus twelve young Elders.   Sister Tolman provided the soft and hard taco shells plus homemade salsa.   It was amazin...

Sunday May 19 We had light rain on the way to Music and the Spoken Word and heavier rain on the way home from our branch meeting.   We both took umbrellas so we avoided getting wet. We had six young Elders over for dinner tonight.   Sister Tolman made a special request for some Elders who have wanted to enjoy one of Sister Tolman’s wonderful dinners.   We had breakfast for dinner with egg casserole, hash brown potatoes, French toast and fruit (grapes and watermelon).   All six enjoyed their dinner.   Those for dinner were Elders Briggs, Slack, Gatlin, Devine, Spears, Barron.   L to R Elders Barron, Biggs, Slack, Tolman, Spears, Gatlin, Devine Monday May 20 We attended the Monday morning devotional.   It was very interesting as we learned about the Discovery Floor (Main Floor) in the FHL. There is overlap between what we do in Help Services and what is done on Discovery.  The flowers are now all replanted around Temple Square. ...

Sunday May 12 The flowers around Temple Square are mostly removed except for those right next to the temple.   I am sure a new planting will be done soon.   We did see some iris around and some other flowers but the daffodils and tulips have run their course.   Music and the Spoken Word had a Mother’s Day theme.   The Bells at Temple Square joined the choir and the orchestra.   After the broadcast we saw Tekehu and Henriette Munanui and her sister Simon.   We talked to them last week.   They all thanked me for the Tahiti pictures that I sent them.   I am so glad that I scanned my Tahiti slides before coming on our mission here so I was able to save these pictures. After our church meetings, we went to dinner at Sister Tolman’s sister Marn’s home for dinner.   We picked up mom and dad senior and took them there. Monday May 13 We attended the Monday morning devotional and learned about the Church History Library Zone....
