An interesting jeweled elephant we saw at the Natural History Museum on Thursday Sunday September 1 We attended Music and the Spoken Word as normal and I ended up being able to stay awake during the entire performance.   Normally I am fine for the run through from 8:35 to 9:05 but have trouble staying awake for program from 9:30 to 10:00 am.   During our Fast and Testimony meeting, the branch presidency for the City Creek Branch was changed.   The change is announced as a change in assignments.   The congregation was asked to join the Mission Presidency to thank the current Branch presidency (President Sherrill, Elder Tolman, and Elder Challis) for their service.   President McKnight then announced the new Branch Presidency with Elder Glen Tolman as President, Elder James Challis as First Counselor and Elder Donald Olsen as Second Counselor and then asked them to welcome us to this assignment.   If this were a regular church unit, we would have...

Elder and Sister Tolman at Red Butte Garden on Monday August 26 Sunday August 25 We attended the choir broadcast this morning.   The choir and orchestra were joined by the Bells at Temple Square.   The Bells at Temple Square in the front   We were reminded of the song “Slow Down” sung by Sissel during the Pioneer Concert.  To hear it again access the link . We had our 5th floor dinner social at 5pm with four young Elders.   The food was a potato bar, broccoli, salad with brownies and ice cream for dessert. We visited the Seniors for just over an hour and sat outside on the patio.   The weather was cool enough but once the sun went down Si...

Sunday August 18 We attended Music and the Spoken Word as normal.   When just the women were singing, they sounded and looked like angels. It was beautiful.    I did some more research on Amelia Eaton. I am documenting the research so I can post it on my Family History Blog.   On Saturday, I started documenting on Powerpoint how I found the family.   I plan to post this research on my Family History Blog.   Amelia married Edmund Towle and they had nine children with 5 living and 4 deceased at the time of the 1911 English census.   The 1881 to 1911 census list 7 of the children.   I was able to find and verify the other two using the www.gro.gov.uk website. Our Sacrament meeting went five minutes overtime as one of the three speakers went too long.   The talks were all good and I have learned not to stress too much if the meeting goes a few minutes past our 60 minutes scheduled for the meeting,    We walked home with th...
