Sunday Oct 6 We enjoyed attending the morning session of General Conference including Music and the Spoken Word. We had good seats in the Plaza 1 section     We met Derek Steele from Tempe just after the morning session. He is here with some friends from his Single Adult Ward in the Tempe Stake.  He helped me a lot when I was Stake Executive Secretary. Elder Tolman and Derek Steele Sister Tolman was talking to woman who was with them since Derek said she was a Ward Temple and Family History Consultant.  Sister Tolman showed her some of her Memories on FamilySearch including our daughter Kim.   She asked if Kim taught at Westwood and it turns out that she was one of Kim’s students and really learned a lot from Kim.   Her name is Brianna Dycus.  Brianna also knows Neil Saravan.   Here is a picture of them. Here is a picture of Elder Tolman with Teave Temahuki, a missionary companion while serving on Huahine, French Polynesia.  Teave is visiting from Tahiti with his wife and staying with their daughter who lives in Saratoga Springs.  Teave is also 72 and they have eight children.  We visited his family during our vacation to Tahiti in 1998.  I saw him on Thursday night. Sunday Sep 29 We attended Music and the Spoken Word.   It was Fast Sunday.   During our Fast and Testimony meeting Elder Olsen who conducted the meeting and Sister Robinson our Zone Leader were the only senior missionaries who bore testimonies.   The rest were Young Elders.   I needed to identify a person to be a Sunday School Teacher and prayed to be able to identify someone during the meeting who could serve. I had previously come up with a list of five Senior Sisters and during Sunday School felt impressed that one Sister should be given the opportunity to serve. I shoo...

Here is a picture of the Logan Temple.  We traveled to Logan on Wednesday and returned to Salt Lake City on Thursday. Sunday September 22 We attended Music and the Spoken Word in the Tabernacle.   We were directly in line with the center of the building in the balcony.  Lloyd Newell was right next to us as he gave the spoken word during the broadcast.  An assistant asked us to be still and not move as he spoke so we wouldn't distract him.   We will keep up our streak of attending weekly as we were given tickets for the Sunday morning session of General Conference on Sunday October 6.   We went to Sacrament meeting at 12 noon at the Rose Park Stake center to hear Elder Bartholomew speak as he finished his mission recently.   He gave both of us hugs before and after the meeting.   We enjoyed our association with him.   President and Sister Fenn were there as well.
