July 31 - 2nd Day at the MTC
We had a mission picture taken of the missionaries in our
group. The cafeteria was quieter today for all three
meals. I think there were fewer missionaries
as some must have left for their missions.
We talked a lot about the importance of the Book of Mormon. We spent
time with the couple we are assigned to teach- Elder and Sister Penner. They are going to serve in Japan. Both of us couples need to determine what to
teach the other couple including an invitation.
We will share the first teaching tomorrow afternoon.
Following the regular activities today, we participated in
the weekly MTC Devotional. Kent F Richards
an emeritus Seventy and his wife were the speakers. I enjoyed hearing from both of them. Elder Richards
talked about the need to internalize gospel doctrines and principles in order
to be an effective teacher. We need to
teach the plain and simple truths of the gospel. He shared the experience at the Gilbert
Temple dedication and showed a video of the youth participating in the
rain. There were several missionaries at
the devotional who were there and they shared their experience.
