August 5 - Sunday at Salt Lake City


This is Fast Sunday so we did not have breakfast.  It was good to just relax this morning.   I updated the information on Day 2 which showed the Senior missionaries in our group.  I added their names so we would be able to remember them.  I put together two slides with the names and where they are going and sent this to all 38 the missionaries in our group. 



Church started at 1pm at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.  We walked there leaving at 12:30pm and got there in about 15 minutes.  We enjoyed church.  Priesthood and Relief Society was first, then Sunday School followed by Fast and Testimony Meeting.  We have two branches meeting at the same time and the other branch starts with Sacrament Meeting.  This makes it so we can share the building.  We met more missionaries including some who live in our apartment building.  We look forward to getting to know them better.

We had nice dinner at mom and dad Seniors (Lynne's parents).  They invited us yesterday.  We had a really good meal with home made ice cream for dessert of course.  We also saw Lynne's brother David Senior there and got a chance to talk to them all about our experience in the MTC.

I met the person who is parking in our assigned parking place and both of us are assigned to the same parking space.  He was surprised when he got the notice that he needs to move his vehicle.  I told him not to worry about it as those is charge will get it fixed tomorrow. We have an early day tomorrow starting at 7:15am.

Sister Tolman's talk During the Christmas holiday’s I read a short book titled The Miracle Maker and it got me to thinking.  What are the miracles in our lives and who is the miracle maker that makes them happen.   I then started thinking about what we will be studying next year and the combination of the two brought this talk into being. March 15, 2020 - Mission Documents

Here is the missionary plaque that we received from our ward. Lynne put together an amazing picture book of 106 pages documenting many of the amazing experiences that we had on our mission.  You can access the book at this link Included below are various letters and documents related to our call and release.  Also included is the certificate earned by Lynne Tolman for completing the US / Canada Training Here are our call letters signed by President Nelson.  Here is our release letter and release certificates signed by our mission president Jerry D. Fenn. Here is the US / Canada Training completion certificate for Lynne.  She also completed the British training.  She received pins for both of these accomplishments. The last two documents are release certificates given to us by our zone leaders in the US / Canada Zone signed by our Zone Leaders and Assistant Zone Leaders

September 29 - October 5 - Sunday to Saturday

Here is a picture of Elder Tolman with Teave Temahuki, a missionary companion while serving on Huahine, French Polynesia.  Teave is visiting from Tahiti with his wife and staying with their daughter who lives in Saratoga Springs.  Teave is also 72 and they have eight children.  We visited his family during our vacation to Tahiti in 1998.  I saw him on Thursday night. Sunday Sep 29 We attended Music and the Spoken Word.   It was Fast Sunday.   During our Fast and Testimony meeting Elder Olsen who conducted the meeting and Sister Robinson our Zone Leader were the only senior missionaries who bore testimonies.   The rest were Young Elders.   I needed to identify a person to be a Sunday School Teacher and prayed to be able to identify someone during the meeting who could serve.
