July 31 - 2nd Day at the MTC

We had a mission picture taken of the missionaries in our group.   The cafeteria was quieter today for all three meals.   I think there were fewer missionaries as some must have left for their missions.   We talked a lot about the importance of the Book of Mormon. We spent time with the couple we are assigned to teach- Elder and Sister Penner.   They are going to serve in Japan.   Both of us couples need to determine what to teach the other couple including an invitation.   We will share the first teaching tomorrow afternoon. Following the regular activities today, we participated in the weekly MTC Devotional.   Kent F Richards an emeritus Seventy and his wife were the speakers.   I enjoyed hearing from both of them. Elder Richards talked about the need to internalize gospel doctrines and principles in order to be an effective teacher.   We need to teach the plain and simple truths of the gospel.   He shared the experience at the Gilbert Temple dedication and showed a video of th

July 30 - First Day at the Provo MTC

Started our full-time mission at the Provo MTC this morning arriving at just after 10am.   We were welcomed and settled into our apartment.   We had our pictures taken just before and just after receiving our missionary badges. These identify us a missionaries and is signed by President Nelson These are our access cards that we used to get into the various buildings, get into the cafeteria and also use the elevator to our apartment on the 3rd floor.   Below the access cards are our missionary badges This morning was brief orientation.  We met several missionaries who are going to our same mission.  Lunch was crazy due to all the missionaries. We will get used to how best navigate the cafeteria.  After lunch we continued orientation with a welcome from the MTC Mission Presidency.  I felt the spirit of our call as I listened to what they shared.   We then were organized into districts and I was identified as one of the five district leaders and am responsi
